What is a Leased Line?
Unlike conventional telephone lines in the public switched telephone network (PSTN), leased lines are not switched circuits and do not have a corresponding telephone number. Both ends of the line is permanently linked, always on and dedicated so unaffected by local fluctuations in bandwidth demand.
Leased lines can be used for Business VoIP, Internet and other data connectivity services including Software as a Sevice (SaaS) and Cloud Data Storage.
A leased line is a premium Internet connectivity product, normally delivered over fibre, which provides uncontested, symmetrical bandwidth with full-duplex traffic. It is also known as a leased Ethernet line, dedicated line, data circuit or private line.
